Helping to fulfil a need in within the community, Colbinabbin Resource and Recovery Centre now accepts DrumMUSTER containers throughout the year. This significant development aims to provide greater convenience and support to Campaspe Shire's local farming community.

Historically, DrumMUSTER had offered a collection service once a year at Colbinabbin; however, due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, it had become increasingly difficult to maintain the annual collection schedule. Recognising the need for a more consistent and accessible solution, Council is now providing an increased collection service to the community of Colbinabbin and district.

The recent redesign of Colbinabbin Resource and Recovery Centre, including the installation of a new loading ramp, has created sufficient space to accommodate a DrumMUSTER cage. This enhancement ensures that the centre can now accept DrumMUSTER containers year-round while minimising the risk of fire and complying with all relevant environmental legislation requirements.

Council's Director Sustainability Michael Sharp said to ensure the safety and efficiency of the collection process, it was important that all DrumMUSTER containers were triple-rinsed before being brought to the collection site.

"This step is crucial in maintaining the high standards of safety and environmental responsibility that our community values.

"We encourage all community members to take advantage of this new service and contribute to the sustainable management of agricultural chemical containers," he said.

"Council is committed to supporting local farmers and other community members by promoting environmentally responsible waste disposal practices.

"We thank the community for their ongoing cooperation and look forward to the positive impact this year-round service will have on our region," Mr Sharp added.
