Our new enterprise resource planning (ERP) category on BuyICT's Software Marketplace allows government agencies to access a wider and more diverse range of sellers of ERP products and services. These sellers offer a range of core and edge enterprise resource planning solutions including financial management, human resources, payroll, and workforce management systems.
Non-corporate Commonwealth Entities (NCEs) looking to purchase ERP solutions to manage Corporate and back-office systems can now access a broad range of sellers under the new ERP category on BuyICT.gov.au.
While use of the ERP category is mandated for NCEs, the category is also available for Corporate Commonwealth Entities (CCE's) and state and territory governments.
The category supports a new strategic direction for how the Australian Public Service (APS) will manage its ERP corporate systems.
"This change gives the APS more autonomy and choice in modernising their ERP systems," explains Wayne Poels, General Manager of the Digital Investment Advice and Sourcing Division. "The establishment of the new category, means agencies now have access to a wider variety of technologies, vendors and innovative solutions that best meet their needs and budgets."
"These joint efforts from the Department of Finance and the DTA will help streamline the procurement process for ERP products and services."
"It will offer new opportunities for small to medium business to sell ERP solutions to the APS, boosting the local economy and building domestic capabilities through government purchasing."
The new approach is focused on providing the APS with the tools needed to manage corporate systems now and into the future. The DTA and Department of Finance will continue to work closely with industry sellers and government agencies to ensure the approach and new category is fit for purpose and supports increasing competition in the ERP market and drives the uplift of government services delivery.
The new Category can be accessed on BuyICT.gov.au.
