Duke Arrests Suspect In Western Suburbs

PD Duke arrested a man after he damaged a number of homes in Woodville North overnight.

Just before midnight Wednesday 24 July police were called to Sheridan Street and Farr Street after reports a man had walked along the streets damaging windows at a number of homes.

Western patrols and PD Duke responded, with PD Duke and his handler locating the suspect in the front yard of a home on Farr Street. Here the suspect refused police direction allegedly throwing a pot plant at police the dog handler and then assaulting PD Duke.

PD Duke managed to bring the man under control and he was taken into custody by officers. Thankfully PD Duke was not seriously injured.

The 46-year-old Adelaide man was taken to hospital for treatment. He is expected to be charged with being unlawfully on premises, property damage, hinder police and assault emergency services worker.

The man is expected to be refused bail.
