Duo Charged After Illegal Arms, Stolen Goods Raid

Two people have been charged after police seized illegal firearms, a taser, a quantity of methylamphetamine, two stolen motorcycles and a significant quantity of stolen tools during a search at Ravenswood.

Members of Northern Drugs and Firearms Unit, Criminal Investigation Branch, Uniform Police and specialist police resources executed a search warrant at a Ravenswood property on Thursday 16 January.

During the search, police located a loaded sawn-off shotgun concealed under a couch.

Two other firearms were found and seized as well as drugs, ammunition, and stolen property.

A 30 year old Ravenswood man was arrested and charged with multiple firearms offences, minor drug-related offences, motor vehicle stealing, and unlawful possession of property.

He was detained to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court today.

A 25 year old Ravenswood woman was also arrested and charged with multiple firearms offences, motor vehicle stealing, and unlawful possession of property.

She was detained to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court today.
