East Arnhem Land Drug Offences: Police Arrest Suspect

Northern Territory Police have arrested two people for drug offences in an East Arnhem Land community yesterday.

Local officers, acting on information received from the community, conducted a search of a residence within Gapuwiyak.

Officers located and seized 120 grams of cannabis within he residence and arrested a 29-year-old man and 28-year-old woman.

Both were charged with Possess schedule 2 traffickable quantity and Supply schedule 2 less then commercial quantity. They were both bailed to appear in court at later dates.

Senior Sergeant Greg Jarvis said " We would like to thank the community members who came forward to provide information that was vital to this seizure and arrests.

"Our members, along with the majority of the local community, are fully aware of the insidious effect illicit substances can have and our officers will continue to proactively disrupt their supply.
