UK Gov

Stakeholders were given the opportunity to have their say on issues in the east marine plan areas through engagement events hosted by the Marine Planning Team at the Marine Management Organisation this autumn.

The team conducted three in-person events in Norwich, Peterborough and Hull and three online events. The events took place in the period from 06 November until 05 December.

Opportunities, challenges, and needs for the east marine plan areas were discussed in depth at these high-energy in-person and online events. Stakeholders were very knowledgeable and engaged, providing their perspectives on the most pertinent issues in the east marine plan areas, along with a range of supporting evidence. Issues raised ranged from concerns around the impact of aggregates extraction on coastal erosion to the potential for increased employment opportunities and enhanced local skillsets in the east marine plan areas.

The Marine Planning Team are grateful to all those who participated in the Issues with Supporting Evidence events.

The issues and evidence provided by the wide range of stakeholders operating in the east marine plan areas will prove vital in policy development.

Later this year, the Marine Planning Team will share a summary report detailing the information gathered from the Issues with Supporting Evidence stage of the East Marine Plan development. Stakeholders will be notified of further engagement opportunities available throughout the East Marine Plan development process.
