The Middle of Everywhere will live up to its name during the Easter school holidays with a huge showcase of festivals and events for the entire family across Wellington Shire.
From aviation and fashion to arts and music, with plenty for food and wine lovers to enjoy, the calendar of events will provide an economic boost to the region.
Smaller towns will be a hive of activity, with community events in Yarram, Coongulla, Loch Sport, Golden Beach, Briagolong and Tinamba.
The flagship event of the holiday period is the ANZAC Weekend Airshow, which is expected to bring big crowds of aviation lovers to West Sale Airport on 23 and 24 April.
The airshow will feature fly-bys and aerobatic demonstrations by a range of aircraft, a vintage fashion show, and on-the-ground displays of aircraft, cars and motorcycles.
Wellington Shire Council Mayor Ian Bye said the airshow was expected to attract more than 7,000 people through the gates during the two days, with many coming from outside the region.
"After the Archibald Prize exhibition was such a huge success last year, the ANZAC Weekend Airshow will have a significant flow-on effect to the region's economy," Cr Bye said.
"Importantly, the benefits will be particularly strong in the areas hardest hit in recent years - tourism, hospitality, accommodation and retail.
"For families, it will be the perfect way to finish off the school holidays with a huge range of events and festivals right across Wellington Shire. With so many of us starting to feel the pinch with petrol price rises, there will be no shortage of things to do close to home and for all tastes."
Throughout the school holidays, strange creatures will call some of Wellington Shire's town centres home, with Kinetic Theatre Company's Beasties installation, a fun interactive petting zoo with a difference.
Beasties will be on display for families in Sale from 11 to 17 April, with visits to Yarram, Stratford, Maffra and Heyfield from 19 to 22 April.
Easter weekend festivities are set to kick off with Victoria's inaugural Good Friday race meeting at Sale Turf Club, with $1.4 million in prizemoney being offered.
While the Tarra Festival in Yarram has unfortunately been postponed until 2023, the town will still be abuzz with community-run activities on Easter weekend.
The Rotary Club of Yarram Tarra Festival Art Show will be held across the weekend, and the Yarram Street Fair and Hive Country Fair will bring the streets alive on Easter Saturday, promising plenty of fun for families.
In Coongulla, the Annual Paddy's Market will be a great day out on Easter Saturday, with stalls, food and drinks.
There will also be the Lions Club Easter Festival and Market on Loch Sport's foreshore on Easter Saturday morning, followed by an evening of live music at the Loch, Stock and Barrels Festival.
The End of Summer Surf Festival in Golden Beach will feature a surf fishing competition, market and live music, also on Easter Saturday.
Foodies can indulge at the Tinamba Food and Wine Festival on 24 April with producers from throughout the region set to showcase their delicious products.
And for over-18s, Inward Goods is a three-day community-run music and arts camping festival near Briagolong from 22 to 24 April.
