Campaspe Libraries is once again hosting its annual Echuca Moama Discovery Day on Saturday, 15 March between 10am – 1pm.

The day provides an opportunity for community organisations, sports clubs, service clubs, volunteer groups and not-for-profit groups to showcase their activities and attract new people to their groups.

Mayor Daniel Mackrell said the event was a great way to promote community groups in Campaspe.

"The Discovery Day is a rare opportunity for groups to have such a large volume of potential new members in one location.

"If you're a club, organisation or group who wants to show the community what you can offer, I encourage you to register.

"Whether you're a newcomer or a lifelong resident, our annual Discovery Day is an excellent opportunity for new residents to discover and connect with these groups," Cr Mackrell said.

This year there will also be a guest speaker, award winning horticulturist and author Craig Castree. Craig will be giving talks on "Seed saving and sowing your own seeds" and "How to use your entire garden as a place to grow food no matter where you live".

"This event is a great opportunity for community members to learn from Craig's expertise and gain valuable insights into sustainable gardening practices," said the mayor.

Cr Mackrell also highlighted the event's ability to enhance community spirit and connectedness through various volunteering opportunities.

"Volunteers are the backbone of our community. Their roles are incredibly rewarding and fulfilling, providing essential support and growth for our towns. I urge everyone to consider volunteering and giving back to our community whenever possible.

"This event offers a wonderful opportunity for both new and long-standing residents to discover ways to volunteer, build connections, and strengthen our community spirit," he said.

The Echuca Moama Discovery Day will take place outside the Echuca Library, located at 310 Hare Street, Echuca. Community groups interested in participating can obtain application forms from any Campaspe Library or by emailing . The deadline for applications is Friday, 28 February.
