Education Leader Secures Top WA Public Sector Award

Education Minister Dr Tony Buti has congratulated the Department of Education for their outstanding success at today's 2024 Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) WA Achievement Awards.

The awards are the premier accolades for the public sector in Western Australia, recognising individual and organisational excellence in public service achievement.

The Department was recognised for outstanding leadership with former Director General Lisa Rodgers PSM winning the Leader of the Year in State or Federal Government.

This award acknowledges an individual who is respected for leading an organisation to the highest of standards and delivering impactful outcomes in the interests of serving the community.

The Premier's Reading Challenge, Alcohol and other Drug Virtual Reality pilot project, and Western Australian Student Assistance Payment, were also recognised as category finalists.
