Townsville City Council has conducted its eighth aerial mosquito treatment for 2020 this week.
The aerial treatment focussed on large sites between Toomulla and Cungulla, with ground treatments also undertaken at known breeding sites across the city.
Council continues to encourage residents to take precautions against mosquitoes such as wearing loose fitting clothing, using insect repellent, avoiding the peak biting times of dusk and dawn, and emptying any pooled water around their yards.
Council staff will continue on-ground assessments of freshwater drainage sites and will continue to monitor mosquito populations.
