We are pleased to advise that drainage rectification works adjacent to South Crescent in Eildon are now complete, which allows us to complete repairs to the road, as part of our Annual Sealed Roads Major Patching Program.
Sub-surface drainage issues in the area that appear to be caused by natural ground seepage have impacted sections of South Crescent and caused the road pavement to deteriorate. Unfortunately, due to ongoing wet weather and the October 2022 Floods, we have been unable to resolve this issue until now.
Works involved installation of a new sub-surface drain, which is connected to existing stormwater drains. This will help protect the road pavement from becoming saturated, diverting water away. This type of work can only be completed when the weather is warm and the ground is dry.
Now that the issues have been resolved and the pavement and surrounding area is drying out, we will be able to complete the final repair and sealing works next week, weather permitting.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused to local residents as a result of these works, but look forward to delivering a quality end product.
This week, Council contractors are returning to Marr Court, Eildon to repair damaged section of the road caused by consistent wet conditions over the last few years. This work is also being carried out as part of our Annual Sealed Roads Major Patching Program.
