Electrical Damage At Toomuc Recreation Reserve

Cardinia Shire Council is aware of the vandalism that took place at Toomuc Recreation Reserve on Friday, 14 February.

Approximately 400 meters of copper cables were pulled and cut from the pits, switchboard fuses removed, cabinet handles and padlocks were damaged

This has resulted in a loss of power to all southern sporting pavilions on site and the sewer pump station that services all buildings at Toomuc Reserve and Cardinia Life.

A generator was placed on site on Friday afternoon to ensure the continuation of the critical sewer services while the extent of the damage can be investigated.

Temporary fencing has been set up around the damaged assets and Victoria Police have installed mobile CCTV at the site for additional security.

Aligned Leisure and the relevant sporting clubs have been updated, Council will continue to communicate with the groups on any impacts to their activities.

Council is still investigating the damage and expects the power to be reinstated in the next two weeks.
