Eman Nasr's Landscapes Captivate at Hurstville Museum

Georges River Council

Hurstville Museum & Gallery is proud to present A Deeper View, an inspiring exhibition showcasing the vibrant and semi-abstract landscape paintings of contemporary visual artist, Eman Nasr.

Running from 25 January to 16 March 2025, the exhibition invites visitors to immerse themselves in Eman's dreamy interpretations of the natural world surrounding her home.

Born in New Jersey in the USA and now south-west Sydney-based, Eman draws on her rich life experiences and deep connection with nature to create works that explore memories, emotions, and the energy of landscapes.

Her artistic journey began in childhood, inspired by her mother, a professional artist and art teacher.

Although she initially pursued a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Eman's passion for art continued to grow, leading her to earn an Advanced Diploma in Visual Arts from Meadowbank TAFE and establish the Colourful Life Art Studio, where she mentors budding artists.

"My painting process is usually spontaneous, heartfelt, quite fast, and always fun!" she said.

"It usually involves hidden collage under layers of acrylic paint. I often take photos of compositions or atmospheres that I find inspiring. The spontaneity of painting outdoors is incredibly energising, and I love seeing how each artwork gradually unfolds itself."

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg expressed excitement about the upcoming exhibition: "We are thrilled to host Eman Nasr's stunning collection at Hurstville Museum & Gallery," she said.

"Her unique ability to blend memory, emotion and nature on canvas provides a fresh perspective on our local landscapes. I encourage everyone to experience this vibrant exhibition."

Visitors are invited to join the official opening event on Saturday, 1 February 2025, at 1.30pm. This free event offers an opportunity to meet the artist and gain deeper insights into her creative process.

Don't miss A Deeper View, an exhibition that celebrates the powerful connection between art and nature through the lens of a passionate and talented artist.
