Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal fire in Murrumbeena this morning.
Emergency services were called to the blaze at a property on Adelaide Street about 1.40am.
A woman, who is yet to be formally identified, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An arson chemist is expected to attend later this morning.
Investigations are ongoing into the cause of the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious at this stage.
