Police are investigating after a body was found following a house fire in the New England area this morning.
About 8am (Monday 26 April 2021) emergency services were called to Tingha and found a single-level house well alight.
Officers New England Police District and Fire and Rescue NSW, supported by the Rural Fire Service, attended and extinguished the fire.
A body was located inside a short time later, however they have not yet been formally identified. The occupant; a man aged in his 70s remains unaccounted for.
A crime scene has been established and officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
