Emergency Crews Responding To House Fire, Crestmead

Police have arrested a 24-year-old man following a suspicious house fire at Crestmead earlier today, October 24.

Around 1.30am, emergency crews were called to a Price Court home after reports of a large fire.

When police arrived, the building was completely engulfed in fire before it was extinguished, causing substantial damage.

The occupants were able to safely flee the residence and no one was physically injured.

A crime scene was declared while investigators determine the cause of the fire.

A 24-year-old man, who was taken into custody at Southport, is assisting police with their inquiries.
