Encouraging Respect In Our Schools

Tasmanian Government

The Tasmanian Government is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our staff, students and school communities.

Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said the Government is continuing to deliver The Line campaign, encouraging adults to stop and think about how they interact and communicate with school staff.

"It's important that our teachers, principals and school staff are treated with the respect they deserve so they can focus on educating and supporting our students," Minister Palmer said.

"We want parents, carers, school staff and other adults to work together to create a culture of respect in all Tasmanian schools and ensure our learners get the best education possible.

"The Line campaign highlights that disrespecting school staff is crossing the line – simple as that."

Disrespectful behaviour can appear in many forms, and this particular round of advertising will focus on how actions in the online world can have a real-world impact.

The campaign will run for the remainder of Term 3 and towards the end of Term 4 across free to air TV, online and on buses.

As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, we will continue to invest in our schools, our teachers and our students.
