Excitement is building for this year's Energy Breakthrough event with the news the Community Bank Avoca, Maryborough and St Arnaud Bendigo Bank have signed on as Energy Breakthrough's Official Volunteer Sponsor.

The partnership is welcome news, with synergies between the 700+ volunteers who make the Energy Breakthrough event possible and the community focus of the Community Bank.

The Community Bank Avoca, Maryborough and St Arnaud sponsorship will assist Energy Breakthrough in attracting potential new volunteers, supporting current volunteers and recognising the efforts of long-standing EB volunteers.

Their contribution will also assist in providing uniforms, training and catering at the event.

Central Goldfields Flynn Ward Councillor and Energy Breakthrough's Management Group Committee Member Liesbeth Long said the partnership was a huge coup for this year's event.

"We are thrilled and grateful to the Community Bank Avoca, Maryborough and St Arnaud for their investment in Energy Breakthrough and specifically their commitment to supporting the hundreds of volunteers who play such a critical role in the event's success.

"This partnership builds on many years of investment by the Community Bank – whereby they have supported local schools across many years.

"The Community Bank's commitment to investing back into our local community is admirable and we are fortunate they recognise the value and significance of the Energy Breakthrough to our local community."

Aley Earl, Customer Relationship Manager at Community Bank Avoca, Maryborough and St Arnaud said the investment was made possible thanks to their customers.

"Thank you to all of our customers. Your support enables us to support the community via sponsorships like this".

"We've been proud to sponsor our local school energy breakthrough teams since 2010. While we will continue to do this, we understand that without the volunteers, none of the schools would be able to compete".

"As a previous participant of EBT, I'm thrilled to see our support of energy breakthrough expand via the partnership with CGSC and the volunteer program".

"I'd encourage everyone to make the switch to the Community Bank Avoca, Maryborough and St Arnaud. The community bank model ensures that the majority of profits are returned to the community. With $1.9 million contributed so far, we really are the better big bank".

As part of the Bendigo Bank network, Community Bank Avoca, Maryborough and St Arnaud is based on a 'profit-with-purpose' model, which means their profits are returned directly to the community that has generated them.
