Energy Bureau Unveils Support for Security & Transition

At COP29, the Bureau of Energy Resources (ENR) announced new and expanded programs to support partners around the world in deploying clean energy technologies, increasing reliable and affordable electricity supply, attracting private sector investment in energy infrastructure, decarbonizing the oil and gas sector, and empowering the next generation of women leaders in the energy sector. These programs include:

Power Sector Program

  • $4 million to advance national and regional Balkan energy security and energy sector decarbonization through the integration of diverse clean energy sources, advanced power system technologies, and clean hydrogen production.
  • $2.8 million under the U.S.-Caribbean Partnership to Address the Climate Crisis 2030 (PACC 2030) to support power system resiliency, strengthen regulatory and technical capacity, and facilitate clean energy deployment across the Caribbean.
