Critical energy projects across Tasmania are stalled under Jeremy Rockliff's minority government - and he's got no plan to get them moving.
The Port Latta windfarm needs an extension to their development application-something only the state government has the power to do-but the Liberals have done nothing. The project is now at serious risk of falling over.
No progress has been made on the LNG refuelling the Liberals promised for the new Spirits, despite the fact the private sector will build and pay for the infrastructure if the government will just give them a site. But as usual under this government, nothing has happened.
The Liberals are at serious risk of having new ships with no port, and no fuel.
Whaleback Ridge has spent years being held up by the Liberals. After four years, they're still waiting for this minority government to provide them with a staged lease. The project has the potential to nearly double Tasmania's energy supply-at a time when Tasmania no longer has enough power for our own industry-but again there is simply too much red tape and inaction under this government.
And of course the Liberals' so-called Hydrogen Action Plan is in tatters, with none of its goals achieved and proponents including FFI, Origin Energy and Woodside having given up on their proposals.
They came to Tasmania only to find there was no power or water, and no one in the government capable of delivering it.
All this inaction and red tape is holding back Tasmania's economy.
Labor has a plan to give the Coordinator-General real power to cut through red tape, get things done, and get our economy growing again..
