Energy Transfer Responds to Greenpeace Liability Notice

Greenpeace

Greenpeace International (GPI) statement on Energy Transfer's response to the Notice of Liability in which GPI summoned Energy Transfer to drop its SLAPP suit against Greenpeace International and pay damages, or face a suit in the Netherlands:

"Energy Transfer's response to the Notice of Liability is as weak as its SLAPP case against the Greenpeace defendants. If ET had credible evidence of Greenpeace International breaking the law, they wouldn't be shy to show it. Instead, they plan to drown us in legal costs no matter the outcome of the trial, and bully all who dare to criticise Big Oil. We are preparing to hold them accountable in Dutch court. The one thing that ET got right is that Greenpeace has not been silenced," said Daniel Simons, Greenpeace International's Senior Legal Counsel for Strategic Defence
