The Cook Government is delivering on its commitment to convene a summit to guide Western Australia's future as a global green energy superpower and secure a strong economic future for the State.
Diversifying the economy and delivering a cleaner, affordable and reliable energy future are key priorities for the Cook Government, with the most recent State Budget delivering more than $3 billion in funding towards new priority initiatives.
The Energy Transition Summit, co-hosted with CEDA, will bring together government, industry, peak bodies, unions and other key stakeholders to examine a range of key issues for the transition, including energy infrastructure, jobs, social license, regulation, finance, and the important role of gas.
Speakers will include Premier Roger Cook and other State Cabinet Ministers, Federal Energy Minister Chris Bowen, Federal Resources Minister Madeleine King, Seven Group Holdings CEO Ryan Stokes, Curtin Institute for Energy Transition chair Sharan Burrow and The Chamber of Minerals and Energy WA CEO Rebecca Tomkinson.
Further speakers and panellists will be confirmed in the lead up to the event.
The WA Energy Transition Summit will be held on Friday, 17 November 2023 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
