Dept of Climate Change, Energy, Environment & Water

Up to 3,500 social housing properties in South Australia (SA) will receive energy efficiency upgrades. This partnership between the Australian and South Australian governments is to reduce power bills for SA Housing Trust households across the state.

The $35.8 million package includes energy performance improvements such as:

  • roof insulation
  • replacing gas appliances with electric
  • upgrading to LED lighting
  • installing window glazing.

The partnership aims to improve thermal comfort and reduce energy consumption for households, including in the Adelaide Hills and remote areas.

The SA Government has commenced the rollout of energy performance upgrades.

This investment is part of the government's $300 million Social housing energy performance initiative, which is helping to fund upgrades for up to 60,000 social housing properties across Australia.
