Entrepreneurial Solutions Key at 16th New Champions

Geneva, Switzerland, 07 April 2025 - The 16th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2025 will take place on 24-26 June in Tianjin, People's Republic of China. The meeting comes at a time when the world economy is undergoing fundamental economic transformations as traditional growth engines are being reshaped by geopolitics, technology, sustainability and demography. Global growth remains modest, projected at just 3.3% for 2025 and 2026, underscoring the need for new engines of innovation and value creation.

Under the theme, Entrepreneurship for a New Era, the meeting will bring together over 1,500 leaders from government, business, academia, civil society, international organizations, top innovators and media to explore entrepreneurial solutions that next-generation economies require.

Meeting in Asia, which is projected to contribute nearly 60% of global GDP growth in 2025, will aid entrepreneurial thinking and help leaders find solutions for balancing short-term challenges with long-term risks and opportunities of rapid innovation.

"The world is undergoing immense consequences and uncertainty, and fundamental economic pressure compels world leaders to act now in finding new and innovative solutions to meet economic priorities," said Børge Brende, President and CEO, World Economic Forum. "World leaders need to come together to find opportunities stemming from this era and co-create new age solutions that tackle this ever-evolving geoeconomic landscape. Entrepreneurship and innovation need to be at the forefront of our models underpinning the solutions of this dynamic era."

The meeting has five core thematic pillars: deciphering the world economy, outlook on China, industries disrupted, investing in people and planet as well as new energy and materials.

Also known as "Summer Davos", the Annual Meeting of the New Champions is the foremost gathering of world leaders, in Asia, since 2007 . The meeting is a key annual event that complements the Forum's ongoing initiatives which bring together leaders to drive responsible industry transformation and global progress.

Members of the media are invited to join the in-person meeting. Many sessions will be streamed publicly on the Forum's website and social media channels, as well as its digital app, TopLink, providing an opportunity for the Forum's Digital Members community and the public to engage in deliberations. The public programme will be available on the website .
