Environmental Discharge - Yeoval Sewage Treatment Plant

Yeoval Sewage Treatment Plant is at a point where it needs to discharge its treated effluent to Buckinbah Creek.

Pond 4 of the treatment plant acts as an evaporation dam, however recent climate conditions have meant that design evaporation rates have not been achieved. This happens approximately once every two years.

Council has implemented its environmental discharge protocol which includes regular testing of the effluent leaving the Sewage Treatment Plant, and testing of Buckinbah Creek upstream and downstream of the discharge point.

This discharge is expected to continue for three to four weeks.
