The Environmental Values Viewer is an interactive, browser-based map viewer. It helps users to see where environmental assets are located in relation to a range of geographic features. This supports high-level investigative work.
The viewer integrates knowledge of key environmental assets in Australia such as:
- priority places listed in the Threatened Species Action Plan
- fine-scale data on habitat condition from the Habitat Condition Assessment System
- Indigenous Protected Areas.
The viewer identifies areas of environmental priority. It can be used to help plan, invest in or implement projects that impact for environment.
It helps users make culturally informed decisions that support nature positive outcomes. Users can search for and select environmental layers they wish to see, zoom into an area of interest and explore data.
The tool can generate maps of a selected view as a PDF file for inclusion in reports. It also provides links to Find Environment Data so users can download the datasets directly. The user can add their own data to the viewer and view these alongside the featured environmental and heritage layers.
