Are you an emerging visual artist? We're encouraging early-career visual artists based in the Wollongong area to apply to exhibit their work in the Curio Gallery space in the Wollongong CBD.
Located on Church Street, in the Crown Street Mall, the Curio Gallery is a unique space featuring four large display windows.
Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said that the Curio Gallery is a community space for up-and-coming artists to exhibit their work for people passing through the mall.
"Public art is an important part of community life. Council aims to support the city's emerging artists as they find their feet and gain confidence as creative practitioners," Cr Bradbery said.
"Exhibition opportunities can be hard to come by, especially when you're an emerging visual artist. The Curio Gallery offers a unique opportunity for early-career artists to showcase their work to a broader audience."
Artists can apply to exhibit during one of the following exhibition project periods:
- 15 August to 10 October 2024
- 17 October to 14 December 2024.
Applications are open until 5pm, Wednesday 31 July 2024. See here
