Western Downs Regional Council has resolved to seek Expressions of Interest for the development of high impact industrial land with frontage to the Warrego Highway, west of Dalby.

Located 7.5 kms from the Dalby CBD, the Council-owned land identified as Lot 1 and part of Lot 2 on SP173901 Dalby-Apunyal Road is zoned for high impact industrial development and has a combined total area of 50.46 hectares.

The EOI for the Warrego Highway frontage land was endorsed by Council at its November Ordinary Meeting.

Western Downs Regional Council Mayor Andrew Smith said Council takes an aggressive approach to investment attraction and the release of these lots will help boost the region's economy, paving the way for new or expanded industry development opportunities.

"Our region is a recognised leader in agribusiness, energy and manufacturing, and the release of this land will attract business and investment opportunities to bolster economic growth," Mayor Smith said.

"Council is keen to provide opportunities for the establishment of new or expansion of high impact industrial manufacturing and agribusiness activities."

Mayor Smith said Council will assess Expressions of Interest against Council's Economic Development Strategy 2023-2028 and Communities Partnering Framework to bolster the regional economy and set clear expectations that developers in the Western Downs actively build, foster and maintain strong relationships with local communities.

"Council will be treating this disposal of land holistically, in that we will not simply be focussed on the highest purchase price, rather, the emphasis will be on the greatest economic and social impact for the region," he said.

"We will also be considering the long-term investment and return for the region, which includes employment opportunities and positive contribution to the region's liveability.

"Council is committed to partnering with developers and industries who are committed to being good neighbours."

The Expression of Interest documentation will be released on Monday 13 January 2025 and can be found on the Tenders page of Council's website.

Optional site visits will be conducted on 29 January 2025. EOIs must be received by close of business on Friday 7 March 2025.
