The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) are building a new kindergarten facility co-located at Yea Primary School using modular construction. From 2025, the new one-room building will be able to offer kinder to 33 children at a time.
The Department of Education (DE) is currently undertaking a robust process to appoint a kindergarten provider for this service. It is expected the provider will be announced mid-September 2024.
To be eligible to attend a kindergarten service, your child must be three or four years old by 30 April of the year they start kindergarten. To check when your child will be eligible to start Three-Year-Old Kindergarten and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten, you can use the starting age calculator.
