The Hills Shire Council is seeking applications for membership to our 355 Committees for interested persons who wish to have an active role in providing input to Council on a particular area of interest.
S355 committees are appointed every 4 years, within 6 months of a Local Government General Election.
The term of a committee is the same term as the elected Council and members must nominate for re-election following each Local Government General Election if they wish to remain on the committee.
The list of 355 Committees for the current term of Council are:
- S355 Castle Hill Showground Committee
- S355 Balcombe Heights Estate Committee
- S355 Heritage Park Committee
The Bushland Conservation Advisory Committee is not being re-established at this time. Council is conducting a review into the role of Bushland Conservation operations and the potential role of the committee will be considered as part of that review.
To participate on a 355 Committee, applicants will need to demonstrate:
- Established ties to The Hills Shire community
- Residency in the local government area or an active interest in The Hills community
- A commitment to attend committee meetings held within The Hills Shire
- A willingness to become actively involved in the committee issues
