EOI Open for Hills Shire Voluntary Advisory Committees

The Hills Shire Council is seeking applications for membership to our 355 Committees for interested persons who wish to have an active role in providing input to Council on a particular area of interest.

S355 committees are appointed every 4 years, within 6 months of a Local Government General Election.

The term of a committee is the same term as the elected Council and members must nominate for re-election following each Local Government General Election if they wish to remain on the committee.

The list of 355 Committees for the current term of Council are:

  • S355 Castle Hill Showground Committee
  • S355 Balcombe Heights Estate Committee
  • S355 Heritage Park Committee

The Bushland Conservation Advisory Committee is not being re-established at this time. Council is conducting a review into the role of Bushland Conservation operations and the potential role of the committee will be considered as part of that review.

To participate on a 355 Committee, applicants will need to demonstrate:

  • Established ties to The Hills Shire community
  • Residency in the local government area or an active interest in The Hills community
  • A commitment to attend committee meetings held within The Hills Shire
  • A willingness to become actively involved in the committee issues
