Expressions of interest are currently being sought from Warrnambool City Council residents to take part in the 2024 Changchun Marathon in China on September 1.
As a sister city of Warrnambool, Changchun has extended an invitation for up to four Warrnambool representatives to take part.
The competition is for long distance runners or amateur athletes to compete in the full marathon (42.2km), half marathon (21.1km) or 6.8km race.
The organising committee of the Changchun Marathon will cover food, accommodation and travel expenses within Changchun, including airport transfers for a duration of 2 nights.
Applicants are responsible for arranging their own airfares and travel insurance. Any expenses incurred from choosing to stay for longer than 2 nights, or visiting areas outside of the city of Changchun are the responsibility of the applicant.
