Baw Baw Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest from artists to create a vibrant public art piece to be installed within the township of Walhalla.
As part of the project guidelines, the proposed artwork must celebrate the town's gold mining history while also recognising the resilience displayed by the Walhalla community after experiencing a series of storm and fire events in recent years.
Council is committing $90,000 towards the public art project as part of funding received from Emergency Management Victoria's 2019 South East Victorian Bushfires – Community Recovery Fund.
How to apply
Interested and eligible applicants are encouraged to submit an expression of interest with a proposed concept design via Council's website by Thursday 11 August.
Artists and collectives looking to apply must be eligible to work in Australia and have a current ABN.
Applicants are asked to please include:
- A written response to the project brief (maximum of 500 words).
