EOIs Open for Existing Home Trial Energy Assessors

Dept of Climate Change, Energy, Environment & Water

The Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) is expanding. In addition to assessing energy performance of new homes, the scheme will now also be able to provide energy ratings for existing homes.

Ratings for existing homes will help Australian households better understand home energy performance, identify cost-effective upgrades, and reduce the energy bills.

We are seeking people to be trained as energy assessors for the trial. This will help make the tools and processes more effective for launch.

Benefits of participation include;

  • fully subsidised training for NatHERS for existing homes
  • funded real world experience conducting home energy assessments
  • a streamlined pathway to becoming an accredited NatHERS for existing homes assessor.

We're seeking participants with a range of experience, including;

  • individuals new to the field
  • those with broader property or construction sector experience
  • experienced assessors with active accreditation under NatHERS, Residential Efficiency Scorecard or Australian Capital Territory Energy Efficiency Rating.

Visit our consultation hub to express your interest to participate in the trial by 10pm (AEDT), Wednesday 27 November 2024.
