The DTA is seeking information to better understand current and future industry capabilities to shape an ERP solution.
The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) has released a Request for Information (RFI) through BuyICT's Software Marketplace. We're asking Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) providers to share information about their capability and capacity to deliver a comprehensive ERP solution for the DTA.
'Given we are a small agency, and our ERP needs are relatively uncomplicated, the DTA is exploring what services and solutions exist that closely align with our requirements,' explains Chris Huang, acting Chief Operating Officer at the DTA.
'The information we're looking for includes edge solutions currently available in the market.'
These details will help support the DTA's considerations for current and future requirements of what agency ERP systems should deliver, including:
- integrated reporting and data analytics
- connectivity and interoperability with third party systems and applications
- embedded automation processes
- security and operational resilience practices
Responses will be collected through BuyICT with the RFI closing at 6:50pm AEDST on 24 February 2025.
In November 2023, the Australian Government announced a new Australian Public Service ERP approach which gives non-corporate Commonwealth entities greater autonomy and choice in modernising ERP systems now and into the future.
'The DTA have always been strong advocates for agencies finding opportunities to reuse available services and solutions wherever possible, learn from the work conducted by other agencies, and not congesting the market with procurements,' outlines Mr Huang.
'Our RFI is the first step in verifying our approach is sound and informing any next steps in the process we may look to pursue.'
