Police are seeking public assistance to locate a 24-year-old man who absconded from Townsville Correctional Centre on Saturday, July 13.
He is described as Aboriginal, approximately 165cm tall, with a slim build, short brown hair and brown eyes.
He has several distinctive facial tattoos, including 'Menace' below his right eye and 'Loyalty' above his left eye.
Investigators believe the man may be in the Townsville area.
