Melton City Council is thrilled to announce that the Djerriwarrh Festival is back this November for the first time since 2019, with ARIA award-winning band Eskimo Joe headlining!
Known for hits including Black Fingernails, Red Wine, and Foreign Land, the Australian alternative rock band has been nominated for an incredible 35 ARIA awards, winning eight, and brought home three International Song-Writing Awards and 11 WAMi Awards.
Eskimo Joe will headline an impressive list of artists for the first Djerriwarrh Festival since the pandemic, with the full line-up to be announced over the coming weeks.
Adding to the high-profile live music will be exciting free kids' activities and performances in the kid's zone, a big street parade to kick things off, market stalls bursting with wares from local artists and designers, a food truck alley serving delicious treats, a pet expo, and captivating performances at the intercultural stage.
A bonfire and fireworks display in the evening (weather permitting) will cap off the festival.
City of Melton Mayor Cr Goran Kesic said he looked forward to welcoming this year's headline act to the main stage.
"Eskimo Joe will add to an incredible list of big-name acts that have graced the Djerriwarrh Festival main stage," Cr Kesic said.
"We're thrilled to have them perform in the City of Melton, and I'm sure many people in our community will be excited by this announcement."
Cr Kesic said extensive planning was going into creating an entertaining day for both residents and visitors to enjoy.
"Djerriwarrh Festival is back, and better than ever. The festival program is jam-packed with so many amazing things to do, and I look forward to seeing everyone having a great day out.
"From the colourful street parade to the market, food and live entertainment, it's good family fun not to be missed!"
A line-up of other high-profile artists performing at the festival will be released via the Melton City Events facebook page.
