Following a comprehensive assessment of the health and condition of trees in McQuade Park at Windsor, Hawkesbury City Council advises that in the interest of public safety, 24 trees require urgent removal.
The trees have been identified as dead or suffering from severe defects and pose a serious drop or fall risk to park users.
Plans to remove the trees are underway and will involve the careful relocation of any nests found to be in the trees. Exact timing of the tree removal is to be determined and the community will be informed when a date has been finalised.
Soil rehabilitation and improvement will also take place to support the replanting of lost trees. Locations and timing of this replanting will be determined as part of the drafting of the updated McQuade Park Masterplan, which commences in the first half of this year.
