Estia Health

Calvary Health Care has accepted an approach from Estia Health to acquire Calvary Robina Rise, Calvary Noosa and Calvary Gympie Views residential aged care homes:

  • Estia Health increases investment and presence in Queensland
  • No change for Calvary Health Care residents
  • Continuity of employment for Calvary Health employees

Estia Health and Calvary Health Care have announced that Estia Health will acquire the Calvary Health Care aged care homes in Robina, Noosa and Gympie. It is expected that Estia Health will own and operate the homes from early December.

Sean Bilton, CEO Estia Health said, "We have a significant presence on the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast currently and are delighted to be able to increase our commitment to these regions through the management of an additional 406 residential aged care places, for older Queenslanders."

Estia Health and Calvary Health Care management teams met with Calvary residents, their families and employees earlier this week to outline the transition process and respond to questions. Calvary and Estia Health are committed to working closely together to support residents, their families and employees through a smooth and successful transfer of ownership and management.

"We want to assure all residents and their families that they will continue to receive the same dedicated care and services from the same people that they always have," Bilton said. "As a provider of 75 residential aged care homes across Australia, we are proud to offer individualised care and support to our residents and their families at an incredibly important time in their lives."

Martin Bowles, Calvary Health Care National CEO said, "Calvary's footprint in Queensland is restricted to residential aged care services, so we are unable to truly embrace our strategic vision to deliver great, connected care. This decision was not made lightly, but we believe this is in the best long-term interests of our residents and staff."
