Mildura Rural City Council is putting the call out to residents to help clean up the Etiwanda Wetlands as part of Clean Up Australia Day 2025.
Anyone and everyone can get involved, with the event to take place on Sunday 2 March from 10am to 11am. There's extra incentive for volunteers to arrive early, as the first five on the morning will receive a gift.
Those interested are asked to meet at the Etiwanda Wetlands carpark to register. Alternatively, volunteers can register prior to the event at Clean Up Australia - Etiwanda Wetlands Clean Up Australia Day Event.
Gloves and Clean Up Australia Day bags will be made available on the day.
Councillor for Environmental and Sustainability Jodi Ewings encouraged the community to roll up their sleeves up and lend their hand to the cause.
"Clean Up Australia Day is a fantastic concept that inspires and empowers communities to clean up, fix up and conserve their environment," Cr Ewings said.
"By taking part in this year's event, our community can play a role in keeping the Etiwanda Wetlands looking great while helping to protect our natural environment. Small acts make a big difference!
"Our annual event is always well supported, and I certainly encourage the community to come out and support the initiative by heading to the Etiwanda Wetlands, or by attending one of the many other Clean Up Australia Day events planned across our region."
