Eurimages Triumphs at Cannes: 9 Awards for Co-Productions

The Eurimages Fund of the Council of Europe is celebrating a landmark year at the Cannes Film Festival, with 9 awards presented to films that received its co-production support, and the exceptional presence at the Festival of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset.

18 films supported by Eurimages were selected this year across the official and parallel sections of the 78th Cannes Film Festival - a testament to the Fund's central role in both European and international cinema.

The prize-winning titles are:

  • Sentimental Value by Joachim Trier - Grand Prix
  • Sirat by Oliver Laxe - Jury Prize
  • Young Mothers by Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne - Best Screenplay
  • The Little Last One by Hafsia Herzi - Best Actress Award for Nadia Melliti
  • The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo by Diego Céspedes - Un Certain Regard Prize
  • Once Upon a Time in Gaza by Tarzan and Arab Nasser - Best Directing - Un Certain Regard
  • Imago by Déni Oumar Pitsaev - French Touch Jury Prize - Critics' Week

    and L'Œil d'Or (Golden Eye) - Documentary Film Prize

  • Ciudad sin Sueño (Sleepless City) by Guillermo Galoe & Victor Alonso-Berbel - SACD Prize - Critics' Week

These achievements reflect the variety of international co-productions, the diversity of perspectives they bring to global storytelling, and the artistic calibre of the films supported by Eurimages. Since its creation in 1988, Eurimages has financed over 2,500 co-productions. This recognition at Cannes marks a significant milestone in the Fund's ongoing commitment to ambitious and independent international cinema.
