Local organisations across Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale are being encouraged to take advantage of returning crowds by applying for the Borough of Queenscliffe's event sponsorship program.
The program, which runs twice yearly, financially supports events that "promote a healthy, involved and creative community".
Queenscliffe Mayor Ross Ebbels said the program's flexibility and scope allows for events of all sizes to benefit from Council's support.
"We take great satisfaction at Council from seeing repeat visitors flock to the Borough and appreciate how much our region has to offer," Cr Ebbels said.
"Whether it's the arts, culture, entertainment or sport, our event sponsorship program can cater to a range of activities and community groups. We're particularly keen to support drawcard events that provide a tangible benefit to businesses across the Borough."
The Bellarine Lighthouse Film Festival is one local organisation that has reaped the rewards in recent years, newly celebrating a decade of events held in collaboration with the Borough of Queenscliffe.
Chairperson Rose Ott described how the festival had been bolstered by the assistance of Council in both increasing its promotion and providing strategies to help celebrate the community's diversity through the event.
"Council has been proactive and responsive in giving support to our volunteer committee," Ms Ott said.
"I strongly encourage other community groups to work with the other groups and achieve greater outcomes through Council's event sponsorship program."
