This month the streets of Perth will come alive with the sounds of local music as the inaugural WA Music Week takes over the city.

From 19 to 28 March, West Australian Music will present WA Music Week and the flagship celebration, WAMFest, on 26 and 27 March presented by Act Belong Commit and sponsored by the City of Perth.

The two days of WAMFest will see more than 160 of WA's most exciting, diverse and progressive contemporary original musicians take over venues and stages across Perth and Northbridge, with something on offer to indulge the taste of all Perth music lovers.

Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said the City of Perth is excited to once again host local live music in the city at many cultural spaces including the Northbridge Piazza and Yagan Square.

"This is the 15th consecutive year the City has sponsored this event, and with good reason – events like WAMFest bring energy and vitality to Perth and Northbridge. I encourage everyone to get involved and attend a show as there really is something for everyone, even families, with free shows at the all-age outdoor spaces," he said.

"Perth is a great place to be at the moment as the community can come together comfortably, safely and confidently to enjoy music events."

The iconic annual event, one of the world's largest celebrations of local original music, was postponed in November 2020 and is re-emerging bigger than ever this year.
