Young Territorians are in for action-packed school holidays, with NT Youth Week coinciding with the school holiday program from 4 to 16 April 2025.
The CLP Finocchiaro Government is committed to investing in opportunities for young Territorians to learn, grow, and contribute to their communities.
Kicking off with the Top End Youth Conference on Friday 4 April, the program has been crafted by community groups and six dedicated Youth Week Ambassadors from across the Territory.
Young people are encouraged to get involved, speak up, and help shape their communities through advocacy and action.
Minister for Youth, Seniors and Equality Jinson Charls said: "The NT Youth Week Ambassadors have done a wonderful job shaping an exciting program, and I'd like to thank them for their dedication and hard work."
"This year's calendar has something for everyone - whether you're looking to upskill and explore potential career paths or simply unwind and enjoy your favourite hobby," he said.
This year's NT Youth Week, themed 'Lift Up Your Voice,' offers a diverse range of events and activities designed to empower young people, develop their skills, build connections, and, most importantly, have fun.
The schedule features skill-building workshops such as first aid and public speaking, along with practical work experience opportunities in radio broadcasting, leather making, barista training, and hairdressing.
There's also plenty of entertainment on offer, from discos and self-defence classes to fishing and gaming events.
School holiday staples like movie days, board games, and Hoops 4 Health basketball sessions will also make a return.
Youth Week Ambassador Evannah Stark, from East Arnhem said: "I'm super excited about this year's NT Youth Week because I believe that it is going to be an amazing chance to engage with and encourage the young people of the Northern Territory."
"I can't wait to see it set in motion and all the incredible opportunities that will come out of the week," said Ms Stark.
With events taking place across all regions, including Central Australia, Alice Springs, Greater Darwin, Palmerston, East Arnhem, Big Rivers, Katherine, the Barkly, and Tennant Creek, there is something for everyone.
While most activities are free, some may have a small cost, and advance bookings may be required for certain events.
A total of $59,600 in NT Youth Week Grant funding has been provided to support community groups and organisations in delivering these valuable activities.
