Signature snacks, bespoke menu items, exclusive cocktails, pop-up stalls and a portrait painting session are some of the customised items and activities available from local businesses during Parramatta Lanes this year.

From unique gelato flavours, luxurious desserts and dining packages to Malaysian, Indian, Filipino and Middle Eastern cuisine, foodies can visit their favourite restaurants for grab-and-go bites or try something new and refreshing at 25 retailers across the CBD.

Iconic institutions such as Mamak, Nick & Nora's, Baba Ghanouj, LilyMu and Gelato Messina as well as local gems Kampung Laksa, Bombat Masala, Smoky Cravings are just some gourmet favourites coming on board.

City of Parramatta chief executive officer Gail Connolly PSM said the flagship event brings international talent and local performers, quirky art installations and a world of flavour to Parramatta, and local businesses are jumping on board.

"We saw more than 180,000 visitors and a $1.5 million boost in our local economy during Parramatta Lanes last year," Ms Connolly said.

"There will be entertainment, live music and giant art installations over four huge nights but the party and fun doesn't stop at our streets and lanes.

"There's more to explore around the CBD with local restaurants, venues and stores offering a taste of their signature dishes, off-menu items, extravagant desserts, limited-edition cocktails and unique experiences."

Director of Sydney's luxury dessert destination, KOI Dessert Bar, Ronald Poernomo, said they have been a part of Lanes for eight years and are excited to be back this year.

"KOI Dessert Bar is thrilled to be returning to Parramatta Lanes this year, a festival that we deeply care about," Mr Poernomo said.

"With the KOI family growing up in Parramatta and calling it home for so long, it means a lot to us to have the opportunity to share our passion with the community each year.

"We are bringing brand new creations we've developed this year along with some of our all-time classics for everyone to enjoy."

This year's festival covers more ground than ever before with spectacular cocktails and drinks at Willo, Crinitis, Alex & Co, Lone Star and Hunter & Barrel to help quench your thirst during Lanes.

Eckersley's Art & Crafts will have a free 'paint your partner' portrait activity at their store on Church Street. Art aficionados can take advantage of the generous discounts off paint and selected brushes to update their craft kits.

Parramatta Lanes is the City's free annual flagship festival and kicks off from 5pm each night from Wednesday 23 October to Saturday 26 October.
