A photo of a burnt tree in recovery has earned 11-year-old Jeremy Scully a brand new PlayStation 5 in Eurobodalla Council's Photos of Hope exhibition.
When his photo "Ashy/sappy tree" was drawn for the major prize Jeremy said he was "speechless".
"I didn't expect to win it," said the St Peter's Anglican College student, who is now looking forward to playing Spiderman.
Jeremy's mum Amanda said the family had many conversations about loss since losing their Malua Bay home on New Year's Eve 2019.
"When our son Jeremy, age 11, found out he had won such an amazing prize he couldn't believe it," she said.
"This has shown him, as well as the rest of our family, that good things can happen too. This event about hope, really has restored a hope in our whole family."
Photos of Hope entries were displayed digitally at the Currents live music event on Saturday 24 April.
