The Cook Government's Women's Grants for a Stronger Future Program is now open, with a record $1.085 million in funding available for a variety of projects that support and address the unique issues faced by Western Australian women.
The Grants support the development of projects that advance gender equality to build a better, fairer and more equitable community.
This round of funding builds on the success of previous years' Women's Grants, with the record investment supporting more projects and grants up to $250,000 available for the first time.
This year, there are four separate grant opportunities:
- Annual Grants Program: Grants up to $10,000 for one-off initiatives;
- Pilot Projects Grants Program: Grants between $20,000 to $50,000 for pilot projects with a duration of two years that target one or more of the four priority areas of Stronger Together (health, safety and justice, economic independence and leadership);
- Women-led Economic Initiatives Grants Program: Grants between $50,000 to $100,000 for women-led, community-based initiatives that focus on driving economic gender equality; and
- Safety and Justice Grants Program: Grants between $100,000 to $250,000 for projects that work towards the primary prevention of violence against women, with a focus on sexual violence.
Previous year's recipients include the West Australian Football Commission's Female Umpiring Academy project, the Perth African Women Association's HealthyHer: Promoting Women's Health and Wellbeing Project and the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Women's Leadership Forum.

Applications close on 16 August 2024 and successful applicants will be notified early December 2024.
