Explore New Digital Tech At BOOM 2025

The 27th annual Bits On Our Minds (BOOM), the premier showcase for cutting-edge digital technology projects created by Cornell students, returns April 23, from 4-6 p.m. in the Duffield Hall atrium.

Students from across the university will be demonstrating a variety of apps, robots, games and research projects, many aimed at solving social problems, providing entertainment or making life on campus a little easier. Attendees will have the opportunity to try out new video games, learn about drones and even pet a robot dog.

BOOM is always free and open to the public; families, students and teachers from the wider Ithaca community are invited to attend.

Organizers in the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science are excited to feature almost four dozen student projects, with financial support from LinkedIn and InfoSys. Representatives from the sponsors will be in attendance to view presentations and give awards.

Participants will be competing for six trophies, including three awards given by faculty from each of the college's departments, two sponsor awards and one overall Bits On Our Minds award. Judging will be based on the student or team's presentation skills, the novelty and quality of the project, and its social impact. Each award also comes with $1,000.
