Local school leavers and mature-aged job seekers will have the opportunity to have an inside look into Local Government and Council operations by attending Clarence Valley Council's Careers Expo and Forum, held in Grafton on Wednesday, 16 October from 11am to 5pm at the Clarence River Jockey Club.
As well as working alongside employment agencies and training organisations, there will also be stalls setup from our Civil Services, Water Cycle, Open Spaces, Rangers, Engineers, and more, where attendees can meet with staff to learn more about the roles.
Clarence Valley Council's Manager Organisational Development, Jess Kennedy, said she's pleased to bring another expo to Grafton.
"Following the success of the Trainee and Apprenticeship Career Expo last year, it's exciting we can bring another expo to highlight more opportunities within Council.
"Attendees will have the opportunity to explore what is involved in various roles including climbing onboard some vital machinery used by our Civil Service and Open Spaces teams.
"This is the perfect time to learn about career progression opportunities as well as engage with current staff at various stages of their careers in Local Government."
Highlights of the day will include:
- Join in on interactive demonstrations from various sections within the Council.
- Jump onboard some plant and machinery.
- Learn about career opportunities.
- Find out what it's like working for Council from our staff.
- Hear about the benefits of working for Council including flexible working arrangements, Competitive pay packages including superannuation, Fitness Passport and much more.
- Explore being part of making the Clarence Valley a community full of opportunity.
Entry to the Expo is free, and food and refreshments will be available on the day.
