Council are seeking Expressions of Interest for the CFCC Working Group, which will encompass important advocacy and advisory roles on behalf of children and youth
Ararat Rural City Council have become a signatory to the Victorian Child Friendly Cities and Communities (CFCC) Charter, solidifying their commitment to increasing the attention on the best interests of children, and to developing strategies which ensure every child has opportunities to thrive in their community.
To support our status as a signatory to the Charter, Council are forming the CFCC Working Group, which will expand on target outcomes of strategic documents already established by Council, and will act as reference for any future goals that encompass positive and equitable outcomes for the community's youngest citizens.
The CFCC Working Group's role is to coordinate a common agenda, and to use evidence-informed practices to promote the Charter's principles and implementation practices.
Under The Charter, a CFCC Working Group is one that recognises three principles: to act in the best interests of the child, to allow children the freedom to express their individual opinions and the right to have those opinions considered in decisions that affect them, and to create equity for all children based on their needs.
If you are an Ararat Rural City resident who would like to become a member of the CFCC Working Group, please fill out the Expression of Interest form on the dedicated Engage Ararat page by 5.15pm on 11 October 2024.
