Police have charged an alleged member of the 'Mongols' Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) with extorting, stalking and assaulting an Arundel man over the past four months.
It will be alleged in October 2024, a 31-year-old Pimpama man supplied a 31-year-old Arundel man, who was known to him, with a significant quantity of cocaine and instructed him to sell it.
The Arundel man refused and returned the cocaine.
It will then be alleged the Pimpama man demanded $15,000 as payment, claiming the drugs had not been returned, before threatening and assaulting the Arundel man.
The Arundel man paid the Pimpama man $16,000, at which point the Pimpama man instructed him that the debt had increased to $25,000.
The Pimpama man allegedly stalked the Arundel man over coming weeks.
It will be alleged that around 10pm on January 25, the Arundel man was at a gaming room on Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley, when he was approached by the Pimpama man and punched.
The Arundel man fled.
The matter was then reported to police on February 8.
Following investigations by Taskforce Maxima, the Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad and Coomera police, a 31-year-old Pimpama man was intercepted while riding a motorcycle on a Pacific Motorway service road at Helensvale the next day, February 9.
He was arrested and transported to the Beenleigh Watchhouse, where police bail was refused.
A search warrant was subsequently executed at a residence at Swan Road, Pimpama, where 'Mongols' OMCG paraphernalia was allegedly located.
A 31-year-old Pimpama man has now been charged with one count each of extortion, unlawful stalking and common assault.
He is scheduled to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today, Monday February 10.
